On behalf of our client, Noor Workforce Solutions is currently seeking applicants for Data Collection Specialist 2 positions in Atlanta. As a Data Collection Specialist 2, you will conduct telephone interviews for the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics' Current Employment Statistics (CES) program and interview businesses and government agencies to collect detailed monthly data on employment, hours, and earnings. Specifically, interviewers ask the respondents to provide information from their payroll records for the pay period that includes the 12th of the month on the following topics: total employment, total payroll, total number of hours paid, number of women employees, length of the pay period and data on production and nonsupervisory employees.

The compensation for this position is $29.24 per hour.

All the duties assigned to Data Collection Specialist 2 positions include:
  • Enroll companies (both singular and companies with multiple site locations) into the CES survey through outbound calls
  • Process confidential data records obtained through telephone interviews or other approved means
  • Perform edits and screening testing in accordance with established DCC center standards
  • Follow procedures for transitioning respondents to alternate collection methods after the initial CATI collection period
  • Test new software and procedures, providing feedback to supervisors and the Task Manager
  • Review error messages and correct data where applicable, redirecting data for error correction as needed
  • Answer incoming calls and emails from respondents, providing prompt and courteous service
  • Perform non-response prompting calls to encourage survey participation
  • Perform edit reconciliation of self-reported data collected via the web
  • Conduct telephone interviews using CATI (Computer-Assisted Telephone Interviewing) systems
  • Use internet research skills to locate and verify respondent information
  • Maintain extremely accurate and detailed case notes for all interactions
  • Meet established productivity and quality metrics
  • Participate in ongoing training to improve skills and knowledge
  • Follow all BLS protocols and confidentiality requirements
  • Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors
  • Behave in a manner that displays professionalism and integrity at all times

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent and one year of experience in Interviewer 1 role
  • Able to manage original Level 1 workload in addition to more difficult businesses
  • Work their full time hours consistently
  • Two years of experience using MS Office or equivalent software suite
  • Experience using the internet for research and information gathering
  • Strong verbal communication skills with a professional phone manner
  • Basic data entry skills with attention to accuracy
  • Ability to follow detailed procedures and protocols
  • Customer service orientation with patience and courtesy
  • Ability to work in a structured environment with established metrics
  • Basic problem-solving skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Team player with positive attitude
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new procedures
  • High values and integrity

Preferred Qualifications
  • Some college coursework or vocational training
  • 1+ years of experience in telephone customer service or telemarketing
  • Experience with data collection or survey administration
  • Familiarity with CATI systems or similar software
  • Experience working in a call center environment
  • Bilingual capabilities (Spanish/English)
  • Experience with government or business-to-business communications
  • Knowledge of basic data quality principles
  • Experience working with productivity metrics
