Pay & Schedule
The salary range for this position is $47,544 to $71,328 annually. Training to begin the week of April 20, 2026. Hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Position Summary
The Research Coordinator II plays a key role in supporting the Texas Rising Star Centralized Assessment Entity (CAE) by coordinating and conducting assessments of early learning programs (ELPs) across Texas. This position is responsible for reliably assessing and monitoring program quality using the Texas Rising Star assessment instruments, evaluating certification status, and supporting all related activities under the Child Care Services (CCS) Program. The Research Coordinator IIleads assessment teams, collects and interprets observation data, ensures adherence to assessment protocols, and contributes to professional development and administrative efforts. This role also includes scheduling, data entry, interrater reliability checks, and collaboration with mentors to support continuous quality improvement.
Key Accountabilities
Coordinates and provides logistical support for Texas Rising Star assessments across assigned regions, including scheduling visits, assigning personnel, and managing assessment materials and resources.
Conducts assessments of early learning programs using the Texas Rising Star Facility and Classroom Assessment Forms, Notetaking Forms, and Assessment Record Forms, in accordance with the Texas Rising Star Guidelines and Staff Handbook.
Collects observation data and makes independent decisions to interpret, score, and input assessment results using the Texas Rising Star Technical Scoring Manual and Engage User Guide (EUG).
Maintains accurate and timely records by entering facility and classroom assessment data into the CLI Engage platform, ensuring compliance with documentation protocols.
Evaluates certification status for both certified and prospective Texas Rising Star early learning programs across the state.
Leads assessment teams and may provide direction and training to other assessors to ensure consistent, high-quality implementation of assessment protocols.
Completes annual professional development and continuing education requirements consistent with the standards for Texas Rising Star-certified child care center directors.
Attains and maintains Texas Rising Star Assessor Certification, participates in weekly coding calls, and demonstrates ongoing mastery through quarterly reliability checks and data uploads.
Collaborates with Texas Rising Star mentors by sharing assessment results and supporting quality improvement efforts for early learning programs.
Assists management in planning data collection methods and procedures and contributes to selected administrative and professional development activities.
Performs other duties as assigned to support the goals and operations of CAE and CLI.
Certifications/Skills
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) required.
Minimum Education
Bachelor's degree in a related field with four (4) years of relevant research experience, including significant experience in project management; OR Master's degree in a related field with two (2) years of relevant research experience, including significant experience in project management; OR Doctorate degree.
Minimum Experience
Varies based on education level as outlined above.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, up to 10 pounds frequently, and a negligible amount constantly to move objects.
