About the Survey of International Air Travelers (SIAT)
The Survey of International Air Travelers (SIAT) is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Commerce, National Travel and Tourism Office (NTTO). The purpose of this project is to meet the growing need for information on the volume, characteristics, and travel patterns of international air travelers to and from the United States. The SIAT is an ongoing program that was started in 1983. Data is collected on a monthly basis. The program is currently operational at 29 US gateways, in addition to the In-Flight program which collects data onboard several airlines. PHL is one of 29 US gateways participating in the SIAT program. This is an on-going monthly program currently contracted for data collection. We expect to renew this project yearly.
